Updatingness

As you may or may not have noticed on the front page, we will be announcing our update date in the first week of May. Not only that, we will fill you in on our plans to not only update, but to ensure that there aren't any missed weeks.

If things go well, there will be weekly updates without interruption for the foreseeable future.

Now, some people have already bid us 'adieu,' citing the lack of updates. If you're thinking about leaving, we would like to remind you that bookmarks are free. Check back in May and you may be pleasantly surprised.

In addition, we do greatly appreciate those of you who have stuck around. Leigh and I talked about ending Wayfarer's Moon and frankly that would be the easier path. However, the knowledge that so many people love our work and want to see more made us decide to keep the comic going. We made a lot of mistakes in the past, some of which were the primary causes for the long hiatus. We're older and wiser now, so we plan on not making those mistakes again, though we will probably be making new ones :)

So again, thank you to everyone who has been checking back week after week. We realize it’s frustrating to not see any updates for so long, but we aim to change that. Please come back in the first week of May to learn when we will start updating again. I will be doing my usual blogs, so you can at least read those and wonder what I’ve been smoking.

Cheers,
Jason

I had started making up my own story line. Now I have to blend in that with what ever you guys come up with.
I mean what about the shower scene where Zhellick wakes up and realizes he's Bobby Ewing?

This is going to be very difficult for some of us. I hope you're happy now.

I discovered your comic a few weeks ago, and was sad when I read all the way through and found out it hadn't been updated in awhile... I'm glad you will be resuming. Thanks for the beautiful art and great story!

It's been a pretty short haitus, compared to some comics. I guess some people just don't have the patience to wait for free comics.

I'm looking forward to May.

I visit your site week after week to read your blog.
The pure geeky madness you write there was enough reason to come back. :-)
But if your comic start updating again it will be so much more worth....

As a webcomics addict, I read a heck of a lot of them. As an illustration student, the artwork matters as much to me as everything else. Wayfarers is the cream of the crop in that respect, and I'm not going to abandon it because of the lack of updates, because some day, SOME DAY you will make more, and the world will be a happier place. Whether the lizard masters will allow such frivolities or not is another matter, but at least they let us keep Belgium.

I'm with RalfTschu there, the blog alone is reason enough to come back week after week.
Actually, I've come to realize that I'm checking the site several times a week just to check if there's a new blog entry regardless of the comic update schedule.

This silly German here is looking forward to May, and the next blog entry.

A few comments, strung together for no good reason:
Wonder what you're smoking? Dude, I gave up on that a long time ago. Let me know if have any for sharing, though... ;)

No wisecracks? Don't you love us anymore, Gunner?

Bobby Ewing? Seriously? You couldn't come up with something decent, like being Angelina Jollie or something? :P

I do enjoy the blog. I also enjoy the comic, both art and writing. And I just got one to say about that whole thing:
Thanks for sharing it. Seriously, updates are a privledge we appreciate, not a right to be expected. Please, do keep up the good work, it's top notch.

"Bobby Ewing? Seriously? You couldn't come up with something decent, like being Angelina Jollie or something? :P"

But Bobby Ewing represents a new beginning and an ironic take on the vagaries of those who produce entertainment.
While turning into a pretty girl is just a juvenile play for titillating humor.
So yes I guess you're right. I missed the cardinal rule of writing for your audience. ;-P

Well, I've been checking this page religiously at least 3 times a week. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to stop now... At least you kept the blog going, if nothing else, letting all of us know that you were still at least aware that your project was still here.

Thanks, all, for the great comments :) It's stuff like this that make us all the commited to continuing the comic.

And now, I'm off to clean my bathroom. I'm afraid the fungus in my tub has become sentient and I want to get rid of it before it develops nuclear weapons.

Well, I'm still here, still checking - so that means something. Probably points to the quality of the work that I'm reluctant to give up on it yet despite the honesty of my previous comments.

I'm adopting a 'wait and see' attitude. I did thoroughly enjoy the comic so far, and I honestly would love to see it go far.

Yay! Updates imminent!! Huzzah!!!
Oh and:
"Leigh and I talked about ending Wayfarer's Moon and frankly that would be the easier path. However, the knowledge that Captain Hesperus had some pretty scary blackmail material on us made us decide to keep the comic going."
Fixed that for ya!

For all the bloggers here, there's also the Forums if you fancy poking around them. It's been a bit quiet, but with inbound updatery-pokery, you can bet it's going to get crowded again...

The guys don't care about the comic really, they're just really interested in seeing Haith updates.

;P

May huh?

Well, I suppose if I've waited this long I can wait a few more weeks.

Glad to have you back, Hypocite :)

And we'll be getting those negatives when, Hesperus?

Haith? The buxom blue woman? Why, I'm sure no one has given her a thought, Ehm :)

Cool, gunner! I'm listening to it right now :)

And I would like to point that we'll be announcing our update date in May, not actually updating then. We'll also be filling you in on what our plans are for keeping the updates coming regularly. We hope you'll be surprised and delighted :)
